UK travellers set to save up to 46% this autumn as holiday rental costs drop dramatically post-summer

Were you planning a getaway to a UK holiday rental this summer, but changed your mind due to high peak season prices? Well, we at TripAdvisor did some research and discovered that travellers will save up to 46% on their holiday rentals this autumn as rates across the country drop dramatically post-summer.

The research reveals that compared to the peak summer season, rates in the south of England, particularly in Cornwall, Devon and Dorset, have dropped most significantly in the pre-half term autumn. Cornwall currently boasts 46% cheaper weekly holiday rentals, with 44% cheaper in Devon and 40% cheaper in Dorset than in the summer. We can’t forget about the rest of the UK, as other popular destinations have savings starting from 17%. However, London is the only exception to this, where holiday rental rates have remained relatively steady (a rise of 3%), following a similar pattern to other large European cities.
