With Christmas just around the corner, this week we asked our users what their plans are for the festive season and the results showed that almost a quarter (22%) of Brits are planning to go away for Christmas this year.
Curious to find out where these Brits were heading, we looked at trend data which showed us that British travellers will likely be heading for either a city break or a winter sun spot.
For the second year running, London tops the list of destinations, while Paris is again the most popular destination for Christmas travel abroad.
However, winter sun destinations are proving even more popular this year as Brits try to escape the cold, with Tenerife, Dubai, Lanzarote and Marrakech all featuring in the top ten. In 2012, only two winter sun destinations – Dubai and Sharm El Sheikh – made it into the top ten.
Aside from London, Edinburgh is the only other UK destination featured in the top ten this year.
